Operation Enduring Freedom (American War Memorial)

Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) was the official name used by the United States government for the response to the September 11th terror attacks. Operation Enduring Freedom refers primarily to the War in Afghanistan, but also includes counterterrorism efforts in other countries and regions like the Philippines and the Sahara.

In 2014, Operation Enduring Freedom was ended in Afghanistan and was replaced by Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
