The Party for Socialism and Liberation
The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) is a communist party established in the United States in 2004. Prominent members include Brian Becker, Gloria La Riva (the PSL’s 2020 Presidential Nominee), Michael Prysner, and Eugene Puryear. PSL members refer to each other as “comrades.”
The PSL nominated Gloria La Riva and Sunil Freeman for the 2020 US Presidential Election. Originally, Leonard Peltier was the PSL Vice-Presidential nominee, but he was “forced to withdraw for health reasons” (not to mention the fact that he has now been in prison for 44 years for the murder of two FBI agents in 1975). La Riva and Freeman were on the ballot for 195 votes in the Electoral College and received just over 80,000 votes in the 2020 Election.
